In that case have the secondary fire have a little recovery time before you can shoot it again. Not to long though. Oh and maybe it should push the player back a little when it fires since it is firing a lot more projectiles at once.

BFG sounds from Doom 64? Might sounds a little too powerful for the current weapon but it might work. Give it a try I guess. Anything else...I can't really think of anything myself. I could look around and listen to some and see what might fit.
