but let's keep the Swarm, it's quite a nice gameplay addition.

It needs a slight redesign, then, so it isn't as impossible to fight. Swarms literally require a Phoenix Rod to kill.

please keep the Shadow Beast for Episode 1... yes I know, it's mine... but it's interesting gameplaywise.

Well, my main problem with it is the sprite edit; it looks really cartoony. I'd also like to tweak its attack into something similar, but fire-based and less like the Bishop's attack (something like A_Weave-ing Wand of Embers?). But I do love the idea of a level 2 Weredragon.

I'm assuming you can use the original heretic monsters on all episodes.
Ice is what the cold hearted sustain. I eat ice, tastes nice.

I meant to discuss with Xaser on what to do with the vanilla Heretic monsters. Probably, use the original until the episode with the more-powerful replacement, like using Disciples of D'Sparil and Hexen Bishops until the episodes where you run into Eriance's Disciples (which still need a new name) and Acolytes, so it seems like an upgrade rather than an overflow of similar monsters.

Hmm, on my cathedral I kinda just went nuts with vanilla monsters. (lots of disciples, weredragons, undead warriors, mummies, and I'll likely be using maulators and iron liches). This is an E1 map.

I think that'd be okay, but I wouldn't place Maulotaurs until we decide what episodes to place them in.

Note that hell storms do exist a lot in Heretic :))

Yes, but are they Disciples of Hellstorms, or what?

The first maulotour should be on H1M7, the Dead Simple level, imho. I feel that episodes 1 and 2 should have just purple disciples and bishops, and 3 and 4 should have the red ones.

And, what about the sons of dsparil? Should they be a recurring miniboss (if so they shud still be used relatively sparingly) or a one-time episode boss (I'm picturing a fire, ice and lightning one replacing the two maulotours at the end of episode 2) Right now they're coded as just a touger normal monster lol the death sequence is their highlight id keep really....
