Name: Seeker Bazooka
Class: Level 5
Type: Hitscan
Palette: Doom
Summon: SeekerBazooka
Ammotype: Rocketammo
AltFire: No

Submitted: Captain Toenail
Decorate: Captain Toenail, lolo_is_cool
Sprites: 3D Realms
Sprite Edit: Captain Toenail
Sounds: Duke Plus, id Software, Findsounds.com
Idea Base: lolo_is_cool's SeekerBazooka, Duke 3D RPG (Duke Plus Edition)

I thought lolo_is_cool's Seeker Bazooka that can be already found on the Armory was a cool weapon, but it needed a lot of work (badly paletted and model rip sprites, dodgy uber-ripper-seeker missiles etc.) to make it better. This is a revamp of the original weapon, built pretty much from scratch.

I grey-scaled the RPG sprites, added Doom hands and made them widescreen-friendly.
Updated the code of the missile so it no longer has ridiculous homing capabilities, and does not rip through targets anymore.
Removed all the 'undoomy' and ugly explosion sprites and screen shaking.
All lumps are now in recommended formats.
It's essentialy a new weapon, but I tried to keep the feel of the original. The original is here if you want to compare: http://www.realm667.com/index.php?optio ... 40&Itemid=

If this gets accepted, I don't think it should replace the existing one unless lolo_is_cool is cool with that.

A cool weapon, toenail.
Though on the topic of rocket launchers, another good sprite for a weapon like this is RPG from duke 64. Looks quite similar but I think it's bigger and darker.

Yeah, JoeyTD's edit is better, but I'm not really bothered about updating this weapon any further. -_-

Can someone else, and set it up as an update instead of a submission? As Toe said, this is a bit better than the one already on.

yes, I know, this is an old submission, but why not use duke 64 sprites in this weapon?

Sometimes I find that "extreme" angles like this work just fine if you shift the offset to the right by 32 pixels. Pow, instant widescreen support. ;)
