For all you know it could've been sitting in the submitter's to do list for all this time. Not that it's such an original idea that could be "Stolen" from you anyway.

That said: It's not the best idea regardless. It obsoletes the old shotguns when you can get that much more kick per shell for no added cost.

[quote="Ghastly"] Logan MTM released a Quad Shotgun in Legacy of Suffering more than two years ago. An SSG with double the barrels isn't an amazingly unique idea, anyway.

well, im sorry too, i happen to be a new member, i dont know what happened two years ago! and realm667 is also the only doom-fan website i know, i have no idea what legacy of suffering is... at any rate, i will not argue with you, your highness! O:-)

how about, to make this weapon less inferior, make it replace the SSG.

EDIT: just saw a legacy of suffering screenshot, i didnt think that it was a game. thought it was a website WHICH ALSO released a quadshotgun in their armory. *omg i must try legacy of suffering*

I really like the update. I myself really like having the option to fire off all shots both individually and all together. Only one thing about this though, the secondary fire could use a little work in my opinion. The reason, when the player fires one or more shots and then uses the secondary fire the gun simply fires one barrel at a time rather than the rest all at once.
In my opinion it would be better if the secondary fire would shoot the rest of the unused shots, if any. For example, if the player shoots one shot, the secondary fire will now shoot the remaining three shots at once. Just my personal thoughts on it is all. Very nice work also. ^.^

I honestly think it would be better off without the single shot alt. And by honestly, I mean I'm heavily against it. It makes the weapon too versatile to fit in an arsenal. That's why he have the pump shotgun.

Okay, I agree with Infirnex: The single shot alternate shot is in my opinion not a good idea.

Also, this weapon is INSANELY powerful! I could kill a Cyberdemon with 24 shells quite easily. I don't know if you could do anyhting to change that and keep the weapon believably scaled compared to the standard double barreled and single barreled, but I think it's too powerful.

i played LOS and i see the point, the SSG was still more efficient than the quadshotgun!

When you're dealing with a weapon of this power level, efficiency kind of needs to take a backseat to the amount of raw damage it's dealing per shot--when you're slinging this much lead around in each shot, it's OK to have diminishing returns on efficiency. Don't forget that each shot can kill a player several times over, or kill almost any medium-grade monster. Even if this thing "only" fired 35-40 pellets for 4 shells, that's still at least 5x what the standard Shotgun deals for only 4x ammo--technically still a great deal.

Also, one can easily argue that the SSG was overpowered to begin with. 3x damage for 2x ammo? Rad, sure, and everyone loves it, but it's not exactly "realistic", or the best standard to hold all future shotguns to.
