Generally, the Editing News forum is a place where people can go to check up on features, bug fixes and other source port changes modders would appreciate learning about or changes to editing tools too small for the front page. It's a place where changelog posts are translated for laymen users and the impact of these changes on the modders' end would be clearly defined.
- If possible, quote the related changelog.
- Do your best to give examples of how these changes help. If you just say "A_RadusThrust with larger values work now," that's not particularly helpful, unless you were one of the modders having issues with it.
- Put the name of the source port or tool in question in the topic description. For example, if you're posting about an action function being added to ZDoom, put ZDoom in the topic description. The rationale behind this is so people can just glance through the topic descriptions if they're looking for specific things.
- Make sure your news entries are actually helpful. For example, "Changed Hacx and Harmony configs to use the arrow cursor as default instead of Doom's bunny" is more like a "so what."
