I've changed the imps in my mod, now they are more agressive and darker. And I feel that the old hissing and dromedary sounds does not fit with them anymore. I'm thinking in new sounds to use for them, but I can't find any real nice. I want something more scary and disturbing.

The Doom3 Imp sounds are nice, but overused. Necromorphs sounds are too much 'human', and would be annoyng in game, I think. Doom64 sounds are nice, but also overused. Maybe the sounds of the Doom3's maggot, I dunno.

Since most of the modders here makes new stuff, I believe this is the best place to ask for it o.õ

Any ideas? :)

I kinda like the sounds that the Vulgar makes. The one on the Beastiary, I mean, not the Doom 3 RoE one (but that one sounds pretty cool, too). I could see those potentially working for an Imp, since they're pretty similar creatures, but I'm not sure if that's quite what you have in mind.

That sounds are very good indeed, but I'm alreary using the vulgar in the mod :( It is one of my favorite monsters of R667.

I checked Amnesia sounds last night, but they are all too much 'human' sounds.

Eriance used sounds from the Devourer, from Starcraft: Brood War for it. They're easily recognizable and come across more as "wet-sounding insect" than "humanoid demon."

Ah, I see. I actually didn't know, since I don't play StarCraft at all. With that said, I thought they worked well enough for the Vulgar (probably because his poison-based attacks help justify the gurgling). But you're probably right, then, that they wouldn't really be appropriate for an Imp-like creature in that case. Anything from Quake III that might fit the bill? There's a handful of monstrous humanoids in that game that might have suitable sound effects.

Yeah, it fits for the Vulgar, but that comes across as a bug-like monster. It just wouldn't fit the Imp.

Quake 3, one of the only monstrous-sounding models is Klesk, and those sounds are already used for the Catharsi. Uriel is the other, but that sounds a bit like Amnesia's Grunt and sounds more powerful than the Imp.

Hum... I'll check the sounds of Starcraft and Quake3, thanks.

If you are going to try Starcraft, I would suggest either the Hydralisk or the...what was Zerg's main flying...Mutalisk?

Along with that some pitch changes, for the mutalisk reminds me of an imp but is sortof high pitched.

Man! I loved it! Preety scary! O_o

I'm provisionally using the sounds of Maggot for the imps (They are much more creepy 'outside' Doom3!), but these Mutalisk sounds are perfect for another monster I'm doing. Thank you a lot!

This might be a little too late to be useful, but I just remembered something that was worth mentioning...the Female Scientist was recently updated with a death sound taken from a Silent Hill game. I'm not sure where the sound resource came from, but Silent Hill might have some good sound resources fitting for an Imp variant, since it's full of creepy, supernatural monsters. Also, the Resident Evil games--the Licker and Hunters come to mind specifically as being good candidates for sound effects, since they're both vaguely-humanoid mutants.
