Force Field Laser Beam issue

Force Field Laser Beam issue was created by Salahmander
I've tried the test map which comes with the Force Field but the lasers won't show, and I've tried using the switches but no luck. Is there something I missed or is it working no longer?

What sourceport are you using, and what version?

It works if I summon it, however, if placed, it won't have it.

Assuming you updated your GZDoom, do the lasers work in the demo map, now?

If they do, then you're doing something wrong with your use of it in your own map. Upload the map and I'll take a look.

Well, the laser beam generator and effects have the +ISMONSTER flag, so as to gain access to A_KillChildren; if you're playing with No Monsters, then the beams won't spawn into the map. But, of course, you can spawn them from the console after the map starts.

Well, in my opinion, that's a pretty serious oversight on the part of the designers, but kind of an understandable one. I think in order to fix this, the laser spawner should probably start with -ISMONSTER, then after it spawns, use A_ChangeFlag to set +ISMONSTER. This way, it won't be a "monster" at the start of the map, and won't be excluded if No Monsters is used; but, it will become a "monster" nearly immediately so as to gain access to A_KillChildren. I'll have to try an update to test this out.
