this part :) I try register to zdoom forum, but have some problem with login, I just wrote to admin but still can't login.

Because I'm beginner my question is, for bulding wall can I use what max size of textures??? 512x128??? or must be smaller than tilling, with palm trees can I use gif or png??? and crossing 2d that will be 3d effects like on my video ride?

I have simple problem how to add own textures to editor??? I must add it to own wad??? but how :(

Example I have from Nfs4 L.A track this textures: 128x256

Also question how to make nice open space (street)

I have gzdoom builder 2.3

Moving this to "The Workshop". The "Let Us Know" thread is intended more for reporting issues with the site or content.

With ZDoom, you can use pretty much any size texture you want. If it's supposed to be a "large" texture (like, the face of a building), than you can leave it as-is. If it's supposed to be a small but detailed texture, than there's ways to adjust the density, but that gets a little more complicated.

PNG. As far as I know, GIF is not supported.

I'm not sure I understand the question, sorry. Are you asking about adding fully 3D models to the map?

If you don't have it already, get SLADE3. It allows for adding or compiling pretty much any type of content you'd want to add to a WAD, including textures and sprites.
The simplest way to add your textures would be to create a pair of markers called " TX_START " and " TX_END ", and simply place all your new textures in between those two markers. Your map editor should detect them automatically.

Well, this is something that will take a little bit of practice, since it involves understanding the limitations of the engine, but I can give you a few tips to keep in mind. First of all, there is no "sky" in Doom, not the way that you'd think of the sky in other types of games. The "sky" is really just a ceiling with a special texture applied to the surface to make the "sky" appear through the ceiling. You can technically replace any sky with a textured ceiling, or vice versa, just by switching the texture applied to the surface. So with that in mind, think of any large "city" area as basically being one giant room; the "buildings" are just carefully placed walls, and "streets" are basically hallways or corridors. The maximum height of the buildings is dependent on how high your sky-ceiling is.

Can I just add to wazards post, you may have trouble with high res textures using wad, for that sort of thing using a directory structure like /textures /sprites /flats and such in a pk3 file would be easier and more compatible for using high res stuff in zdoom... I'd like to go in more detail, but I'm my phone at work.. Touch screen doesn't agree with my fingers lol
